If you want to detach from the world of technology for a few days to commune with Mother Nature, then going to Guimaras is the best bet.
Guimaras is an island province located in the Western Visayas region. One of the smallest province in the Philippines, Guimaras used to be a sub-province of Iloilo until it was made independent on the year 1992. The lone district of Guimaras is composed of five municipalities (Buenavista, Nueva valencia, Jordan, San Lorenzo and Sibunag) with Jordan serving as the town capital and Hiligaynon as the native dialect.
in the town proper.

Hi,
I found your Guimaras/Iloilo article helpful. My friends and I, the five of us, will be having a Guimaras/Iloilo 4d/3n trip this June 2012. Hence, I would like to seek your inputs on a few things:
1. Do we need to hire a tour guide and rent a boat to go around Guimaras?
2. How did you visit the different tourist spots in Iloilo? Via jeepney or can you also hire a van? From what I've been reading and based on personal experience, the spots in Iloilo are not close with each other.
Would appreciate your timely response.
Many thanks!

Thanks for the compliment. =) As for your queries...
1. You need to really hire a tour guide to go around the town of Guimaras since tourists spots are far from each other. Same goes with the island hopping. Rate is in the touring section of this travel guide. =)
2.Well, we weren't able to visit that much spots in Iloilo but even though, we plan to do it via jeepney. =) It's cheaper. Here's another article I wrote about Iloilo that might help you plan your trip. ^_^
